We we have a paid Kitchen Support Coordinator role available for our upcoming Emerging Hearts CI Dance Summer Camp 2025. (Monday 23rd June to Monday 30th June)

One of the key elements of these community camps is the food we share together that is cooked by the community itself.

We are looking for a confident, flexible & easy-going community kitchen support coordinator to share in the role of supporting the lead coordinator at these camps.  As an organisation, we have lots of experience with running these camps (over 15 years) and cooking in this way.

What the role involves:  (shared, you’ll work on a one meal a day, rotation)

• Support the kitchen lead coordinator as needed.
• Cooking & Serving: Support our lead coordinator to prepare, cook, serve, and clean up for half the lunch and dinner meals, with help from a team of volunteers. (Breakfast is managed by another team)
• Managed the volunteers: giving them prep, serving and cleaning roles as needed.
• Meal Numbers: We’ll be serving lunch and dinner to a group of up to 170 people, from Monday dinner to Sunday dinner over 7 days. You'll support 7 of these meals.
• Meal Details:
  • Lunch focuses on soups and salads.
  • Dinners are more substantial, featuring a mix of international cuisines (e.g. Indian curry) and a straightforward dessert like energy balls or rice pudding.

• All meal plans and ingredients are supplied.
• All you need to do is turn up and ready to support the lead coordinator in managing the meals and volunteers.

• £245 exchange for your role.
• Be part of the camp, with time to participate in the workshops and connect with the community.

• Catering experience for large groups is essential.
• Ideally, some interest and experience in Contact Improvisation would be a bonus – it helps to vibe with the energy of the event!
• A love for cooking and working in a friendly, informal setting with a supportive team.
