AdvanceKentucky's Middle School Math Program - Access to Algebra Application

AdvanceKentucky is happy to invite public middle schools from across the Commonwealth to apply for our Access to Algebra Program. Schools interested in training and support for increasing the number of middle school students prepared for advanced STEM coursework may apply.  Applications will remain open year-round but priority for the next group of schools, Cohort 6, will be given to applications received by December 1, 2021.

Mission Statement
The program promotes and supports a school culture of high expectations for rigorous student learning and targeting open enrollment in accelerated math courses, including 8th grade Algebra. The overall goal is to increase the number of students leaving middle school prepared for advanced STEM coursework in high school, including a focus on inclusion of students traditionally underrepresented in advanced courses.
Our Program Requires Teachers to
Participate in a four-day Laying the Foundation Training each summer for three years
Promote rigor in the math classroom
Collaborate with other math teachers a minimum of four times a year
