RUSD's Guiding Principles

Dear Rowland Unified Parent/Guardian:

With the many changes that have taken place locally and globally in recent years, now is the perfect opportunity for us, as an organization, to revisit our guiding principles (mission, vision and core values) and create our promise to the students in the Rowland Unified School District.

The intention of this collective process is to facilitate unity of purpose. The outcome will give shared meaning to the work of our District, generating common goals across the organization. To be effective, the process must proactively seek out the diverse voices of our District's many stakeholders. We want all educational partners to be committed to and be meaningfully engaged in this development.

YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED! We are seeking your participation on one of our input teams or by attending one of our community forums.

Working together we will create our collective commitment to students and develop our portrait of an RUSD graduate. Guiding us through this process will be Performance Fact, a company that utilizes a series of stakeholder planning teams to ensure diversity and equity of voice and representation.

Focus Teams will start meeting this month and the process will conclude with a presentation to the Rowland Unified School District Board of Education in June.

Thank you for your participation in this process and commitment to RUSD's continued success!

Warm Regards,

Dr. Julie Mitchell, Superintendent of Schools
