The coal Australia mines and exports is fuelling devastating climate impacts, here at home and beyond our shores. Yet, reckless coal barons and billionaires are itching to expand - in fact, almost half of all global coal expansion is planned for Australia.

Australia is one of the world’s biggest climate villains, but we have the power to create one of the biggest climate solutions - keeping coal in the ground.

Introducing Move Beyond Coal!

Building on the lessons and successes of #StopAdani, Move Beyond Coal is a big, bold, people-powered movement to solve Australia's biggest contribution to the global climate crisis – starting by ending funding for dangerous coal expansion.

We need to build a bigger, bolder, more visionary movement than ever before. That’s why we’re gathering in our communities at the Move Beyond Coal launch parties, who care about our climate, to put in the work to make coal history. Whilst there will be in-person events in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, we know that not everyone can make it to these state capitals, or feels comfortable attending a large-scale in-person event during the COVID-19 pandemic - so, we are hosting an online launch as well!

On Thursday 22 September at 6.00PM - 7.45PM AEST, we will be hosting the online launch of Move Beyond Coal, and we want to invite you to host your own Watch Party!

A Watch Party is an in-person gathering, where you watch a livestreamed online event. You might gather 5-10 friends in your home, put out a potluck dinner and watch the Move Beyond Coal online launch; or you might book out a venue for a large group of people from your community, and project the online event onto a wall.

Big or small, the purpose of a Watch Party is simple: get together, get engaged and take action.
