Major Event (Twin Cities) Proposal
Any requester, be it as an individual, or on behalf of a group, academic department, or administrative unit, proposing to host a major event on the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus must complete a Major Event Proposal form. Upon completion, the event requester must submit the proposal form to the Major Events Committee (simply click SUBMIT). The Major Events Committee will then review the proposal.  The Committee will consider the information provided by the requester along with at least the following factors to determine whether the proposed event can be held safely on campus:
1. The time of the academic year during which the event will occur.
2. Other events happening on campus at or near the same time.
3. Impact of the proposed event on parking and traffic.
4. Anticipated weather conditions.
5. Public health concerns.
6. The compliance history of the requesting party with University policies.
7. University holidays.
8. Whether the University’s Department of Public Safety is aware of any security concerns surrounding the proposed event.

A description and number of anticipated participants featured in the presentation/program/concert/event.
Will the event pose security concerns for the invitee, the audience, or the campus community?
Does the proposed event involve activity that poses an inherent risk of personal injury or property damage?
Are law enforcement or security officers or personnel, beyond University of Minnesota Police Department, contracted to work the event?
Will the event be ticketed? If so, describe ticketing plan.
Will sales or cash transactions be conducted at the event?
Will alcoholic beverages be served?
