Major Event (Twin Cities) Proposal
Any requester, be it as an individual, or on behalf of a group, academic department, or administrative unit, proposing to host a major event on the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus must complete a Major Event Proposal form. Upon completion, the event requester must submit the proposal form to the Major Events Committee (simply click SUBMIT). The Major Events Committee will then review the proposal. The Committee will consider the information provided by the requester along with at least the following factors to determine whether the proposed event can be held safely on campus:
1. The time of the academic year during which the event will occur.
2. Other events happening on campus at or near the same time.
3. Impact of the proposed event on parking and traffic.
4. Anticipated weather conditions.
5. Public health concerns.
6. The compliance history of the requesting party with University policies.
7. University holidays.
8. Whether the University’s Department of Public Safety is aware of any security concerns surrounding the proposed event.
Please refer to the Major Events Proposal Procedure for more details on the requested information.
