GR Trans Foundation's "Update!" Program provides guidance, legal assistance, and microgrants to Trans and Nonbinary residents of KENT COUNTY, MI.

- The program's assistance is currently provided in mini-workshops of no more than 4 people (in-office). One-on-one and virtual assistance is provided if needed.

To be eligible, you must:
- Be a Trans or Nonbinary person.
(If you are a parent or guardian of a Trans or Nonbinary minor, or assisting a Trans or Nonbinary person, you may fill out this application on their behalf.) - Have lived in KENT COUNTY, MI, for one year or longer.
(You may still access this program/information if you have lived in Kent County for less than one year, but will be unable to submit your initial paperwork to the court until your one-year mark.)
NO LEGAL REPRESENTATION BY GRTF
Filling out this form does not establish a lawyer-client relationship with Grand Rapids Trans Foundation (GRTF). GRTF does not take on name change clients directly in a legal capacity, but operates the Name Change Program in partnership with local volunteering attorneys. If you do not live in KENT COUNTY, MI, our partnering lawyers will be unable to assist you with your name change.
Note: The "Update!" Name Change Workshop cannot provide referrals to individuals with unresolved warrants. If you have open warrants, they must be cleared before you can be determined eligible for participation.
