This application is for MENTORS. If you wish to be a MENTEE there is a separate form you must complete.
We applaud your interest in the RSPA Career and Leader Mentoring Program. The purpose of the program is to help members develop relationships and attain skills beneficial toward advancing their careers. Each Mentee is paired with a Mentor for a minimum of one year. Mentors and Mentees are encouraged to work together beyond one year if they so choose. If a Mentor or Mentee decides to seek a new program partner, they should reapply at that time. There is NO need to notify the RSPA if a mentoring relationship will extend beyond a year. Mentors and Mentees are eligible to participate in the program more than once.
Mentor selections will be made based on the criteria below:
A. Be an Elite Pro, Master Pro, OR be at the Professional Level but be a member in good standing for ten or more years. This includes RSPA dues, education, and SafePlay requirements.*
B. Have skills, background and/or experience that aligns with those sought by Mentees, ideally located in your RSPA division.
C. Commit to apply a structured mentoring process that you develop before beginning this program or one that the program committee provides you.
D. Communicate with one's Mentee at least once a month AND speak with one's Mentee within two weeks of the beginning of the program.
E. Commit to complete follow-up forms as provided by the Committee.
NOTE: WHILE MENTORS AND MENTEES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AT ANY TIME, PAIRINGS ONLY TAKE PLACE IN SUMMER AND FALL.
Prospective Mentors who provide more thorough answers are more likely to be paired than those who provide shorter answers.
