Westford Chamber Players (WCP) is offering an exciting chamber music summer program for students in Westford and the surrounding towns. The summer music program is designed to help student musicians to develop their musical and ensemble skills and to foster an appreciation for classical music. Daily musical activities include chamber ensembles and supervised practice sessions coached by professional musicians, as well as musical games, theory and composition classes. Each week-long session will end with a live concert on Friday. Students of all instruments are welcome!

Sessions:

Week I: Jul. 15 – 19 | Week II: Jul. 22 – Jul. 26 | Week III: Jul. 29 – Aug. 2 (9:00AM – 5:00PM)

Daily chamber coaches:

Dimitar Petkov (violin/viola), Shuang Yang (violin), Harel Geitheim (cello), Julie Ottesen (orchestra)

Sample Daily Activities:
8:30 Drop-off and Warm-up
9:00 Morning chamber rehearsals
11:30 Lunch and outdoor activities
12:30 Solo Workshop
2:00 Afternoon chamber rehearsals
3:30 Musical theory and composition
4:30 Rhythm games and music fun facts
5:00 Pick up

Video Audition is required for placement:

A video recording (up to 10 minutes) is required for placement, including 2 contrasting pieces of your choice and 2 scales representing your current level of achievements. Not required for WCP members.

Tuition and registration fees:

Registration $40 non-refundable (including audition review and placement).

Tuition: $550 per student per week for camp students

$275 per week for counselor in training (students ages 16-18 with 6+ instrument experience)

Deadlines:

Registration - May 1 2024

Video Submission - May 15, 2024

Full tuition due on June 1, 2024 (Early Birds by May 15, 2024)
