Too often, a home visit from a teacher means one thing to a family: trouble. But with the North Parent/Guardian Teacher Home Visit (PTHV) Program, the goal is to start by building a strong and positive relationship between the family and the school. We are excited to visit with you!!
The visits begin with the teacher asking about the family’s hopes and dreams for their child. By involving the parents and families, we create a better chance of success for students.
What is a home visit?
Home visits are meetings between school staff and families focused on building positive relationships. They are:
-20-30 minutes long
-Voluntary for both staff and families
-Hosted somewhere outside of school (home, park, library, etc.)
-Based around the question – what are your hopes and dreams for your child?
Why home visits?
Home visits are a research-based approach correlated with improvements in:
-Student achievement
-Attendance
-Behavior

Con demasiada frecuencia, una visita al hogar de un maestro significa algo para una familia: problemas. Pero con el Programa de visitas al hogar de padres y maestros (PTHV), el objetivo es comenzar construyendo una relación fuerte y positiva entre la familia y la escuela.
Las visitas comienzan con la maestra preguntando sobre las esperanzas y sueños de la familia para su hijo. Al involucrar a los padres y las familias, creamos una mejor oportunidad de éxito para los estudiantes.
¿Qué es una visita al hogar?
Las visitas al hogar son reuniones entre el personal de la escuela y las familias enfocadas en construir relaciones positivas. Son:
-20-30 minutos de duración
-Voluntario para el personal y las familias.
-Alojamiento en algún lugar fuera de la escuela (hogar, parque, biblioteca, etc.)
-Basado en la pregunta: ¿cuáles son sus esperanzas y sueños para su hijo?
¿Por qué visitas a domicilio?
Las visitas domiciliarias son un enfoque basado en la investigación correlacionado con mejoras en:
-Logro estudiantil
-Asistencia
-Comportamiento
