Get paid to take photographs of gravestones!

BillionGraves is the world's largest GPS-linked cemetery database, providing genealogical data to families around the world so they can find their ancestors and grow their family trees.

We are seeking to hire multiple employees to take photos of gravestones with your smartphone on a month-by-month basis during the fall of 2021.

If hired, you will be using the BillionGraves app on your smartphone to take photos of headstones. You do not need to be a professional photographer.

Hours: Days of the week and hours are flexible but work will need to be done during the daylight so the photos are visible.

Physical Requirements: You must be able to walk and navigate through a cemetery quickly, safely, and efficiently. You must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and maintain a brisk walk for long periods of time. You must be age 16 or older.

Technical Requirements: You must be comfortable working with your mobile phone, taking photos with a smartphone camera, and have some basic troubleshooting skills.

Other Requirements: You must have good oral and written skills as you will be working with other photographers, cemetery managers, and BillionGraves staff.

Equipment: You will need your own smartphone with GPS capabilities (iPhone or Android). It is not required, but it will be helpful if you have a computer.

Transportation: Applicants will need reliable transportation to drive to cemeteries. Your assigned cemeteries will usually be within a 1 hour drive of your home.

Compensation: $15 per hour

Employment Type: contract, 1099, at-will

Download the BillionGraves app to your phone by going to the App Store (for iOS phones) or Google Play Store (for Android phones). *
Register for a BillionGraves account. You will be entering your email address, a user name, and a password of your choice. You can set up an account on your smartphone in the BillionGraves app or on the internet at billiongraves.com/register. After you have registered, you will receive an email from BillionGraves to verify your email address. Click on the link in the email to verify your email address. While you are at home, connect to Wi-Fi and then use your phone to do a speed test by going to fast.com. The results will show your download speed in a large number. What is your download speed? *
