COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Summer Intensives
In this intensive 6 weeks of art-making, students will delve into 3 mediums and themes in art: Drawing & Paintings (2D), Sculptures & Installation (3D), and Photography. Students will gain an understanding of the different mediums, gather resources on contemporary examples, conceptualize their projects, produce works, and develop language around each work. Each step in this creative process is an integral part of the visual art language, a strong portfolio, and a key to what colleges are looking for. Students will be working with LA based contemporary artists who are actively working in the scene.ย
Exhibition-Makingย Class
Over the course of 8 weeks, students will produce an exhibition of their own from beginning to end. Through this process, students will develop a deeper understanding of the art of exhibition making, gain the practical skills needed to put on a successful exhibition, and get a glimpse of what itโs like to pursue a career in the creative field. Students will learn about the various elements that make up an exhibition and execute the roles of a curator, writer, editor, marketer, graphic designer, spatial designer, an art handler, documentation photographer, event producer, and of course, an artist.ย

Figure Drawing Class
The human figure has so much to offer for both beginners and seasoned artists. This 6-week workshop will lead you through figure and portrait drawing techniques with live model sessions. We will focus on line, shading techniques, and proportions while studying human skeletal anatomy. Students will use graphite and charcoal, and experiment with other mediums to develop their own figure drawing style.
