2020 CFI Application
The Center for Innovation (CFI) is a partnership between Abilene ISD and McMurry University offering Grade 5 students the opportunity to spend the year learning from Abilene ISD teachers and university faculty on the university campus. Applicants must be a currently enrolled Grade 4 student in Abilene ISD and meet criteria for attendance, behavior, and academic performance.

The curriculum at the Center for Innovation is designed for students interested in math and science. You can learn more about the Center for Innovation at www.abileneisd.org/center-for-innovation.

Admission to the school is by application, and all students who meet criteria are considered. Application criteria for the 2020-2021 school year include:
 Interest in math and science
 Satisfactory attendance with minimal tardies through the fourth grading period of the current school year
 Satisfactory conduct (citizenship grades on report cards and office referrals considered)
 At least a 90 average in the core subjects (language arts, math, science, social studies) through the fourth grading period of the current school year
 Passing scores for the sixth grading period of the current school year. This is accomplished by turning in an average of one assignment per week per course from the online curriculum starting April 13, 2020.

Applications must be complete and postmarked or submitted online no later than 7:00 PM on May 22, 2020. Students are selected in such a way that, to the greatest extent possible, all elementary campuses are represented and the attendees are demographically similar to all of fourth grade in Abilene ISD.
