Signed into law in May of 2019, the Student Success Act is a historic opportunity for Oregon schools. When fully implemented this act will invest approximately $2 billion for early learning and K-12 education, and close to $500 million will go directly to Oregon school districts and eligible charter schools through the Student Investment Account. It is that time again to gather community input to assist in our decision-making process.
The focus of the Student Investment Account is on key areas for improvement – from reducing class size, increasing instructional time, addressing health and safety needs and ensuring a well-rounded education. Previous input focused our allocation of funds to enhance mental and emotional health supports, extended CTE offerings and advanced coursework as well as music education. We have all of this in place as a result of this funding.
Ms. Knudson and ECS Educational Leaders need your input as we are again gathering input data from all stakeholders. The basic four categories include:
1. Reducing Class Size
2. Increasing Instructional Time
3. Health and Safety
4. Well-rounded Education
