Obon Food Recovery Sign-Up
Thank you for volunteering for the 2019 Sustainable Little Tokyo obon food recovery. Since 2015, SLT has recovered more than 5,500 pounds of food waste from our local Buddhist Obon Festivals, in partnership with Higashi Honganji, Nishi Hongwanji, and Zenshuji Buddhist Temples! We collect leftover food and produce and donated it to local shelters and food banks. Together, we are working to prevent food waste and green our Obons!

Day of Obon volunteering
- Evening volunteering
- We will be moving crates of produce and food from the main event area to a place where they can be stored overnight. - We will also be sorting the food.

Day after Obon volunteering
- This volunteering will be the Monday or Tuesday morning after the Obon Festivals
- We will be helping load the Food Finders truck which will be picking up the food
*Tentative volunteering time. If you are free around this time please feel free to sign up. We will update those available to volunteer with a confirmed volunteering time
