CHECK IN TIME: 11 AM (parade officially starts at noon)
MEET UP LOCATION: 30th Street between 6th and 5th Avenues; approach location from 6th Avenue
SECTION: 1
ORDER # WITHIN SECTION: 27
Please note that if you are new to the NYC Pride march, it is a LONG and often HOT day and so we will all need to plan accordingly. Although we are lucky and are assigned a spot toward the front of the parade since we are a school group, there could still be a wait even before the event begins and then, of course, the actual marching.
There is a sign-up on Konstella (under the Rainbow Committee group) to commit to bringing some items for the group (e.g., snacks, candy, drinks, sunscreen), but if you have individual items that you and your children will need, please make sure to bring what you need.
Every PS 20 child MUST have at least one adult accompanying them during the march. Family/friends of the PS 20 community are invited too, but please note that since there is a 100 person limit, if we get anywhere near that number, priority will be given to PS 20 community members.
Be sure to fill out this form completely and make sure that the contact information provided is accurate, as that will be essential for communications leading up to the event day and on the day of. If everyone has access to What's App, we'll start a group chat there; if not, we'll do a group text with cell phone numbers.
This will be the first time PS 20 marches and we are very excited for this opportunity! If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Iseult (
iduncombe@schools.nyc.gov or Konstella), Danica You-Hamilton (
dsyh.nyc@gmail.com or Konstella), or any Rainbow Committee member. If you need to quickly reach someone on the day of, you can text Danica at 917-558-1500.
Also, if you're unable to participate in the Pride March with PS20, Rainbow Club meetings take place on the last Thursday of each month during the school year. Keep an eye out on Konstella for updates for the 2022-2023 school year.
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!
