RubyConf 2021 Opportunity Scholar Application
This is the application form for the Opportunity Scholarship. We are offering a limited number of complimentary RubyConf 2021 tickets as part of this scholarship. While it is open to everyone, we are specifically encouraging students, women, minorities, and other underrepresented groups in the technology sector to apply. If you have not fully read up on the program, please check out our page on the RubyConf website, http://rubyconf.org/scholarships. Also, all Scholars at RubyConf will be matched up with a Guide who will do his or her best to make your experience terrific.

Scholar Gathering is on November 8th. RubyConf is November 8-10, 2021. Date subject to change, more details provided later.

How would you utilize your Guide? What types of questions would you ask them and what would you hope they could provide for you as a Scholar?
Scholars are matched with Guides to help make their RubyConf experience a fantastic one. Guides are more experienced developers who are involved in the Ruby community and excited to welcome someone new.
How do you most want to spend your time at RubyConf 2021?
Have you been mentored in the past? If so, tell us about that experience. What do you think went well and what do you wish was better? What did you do and what did your mentor do?
Is there a local Ruby community in your area? If so, are you involved at all?

We often are able to provide a limited amount of financial support for Scholars’ transportation and/or accommodation, due to generous donations from our conference sponsors. This support is provided on a first-come, first-served basis to Scholars who submit their paid actual travel costs for reimbursement. While this is not something that we can guarantee at this early stage, we will update Scholar applicants as soon as we know if this is a possibility. All reimbursements would be capped at $500 USD total per Scholar. Please check below to acknowledge that you've read this. *
