When The Brain Doesn't Want To See
What does it mean to live with visual impairments due to brain injury? And which impact does this have on one’s personal life and surroundings? Flore Van Dooren, a clinical psychologist at Koninklijke Visio, will take us on a deep dive into these neuropsychological questions. Koninklijke Visio is an expertise center for partially sighted and blind individuals. In this webinar, Flore will speak about everything she learned from her job that she was never taught as a clinical psychology student at KU Leuven. First, she will explain the neurological base of visual impairments due to non-congenital brain damage. Second, she will talk about coping with the loss of one’s (physical) health, and how this is linked with mental health problems, like depression and anxiety. After her presentation, there will be room for discussion and questions.

You can register down below until 12 December at 20:00. On the day of the event, you will receive the Zoom invitation via your student e-mail.

(!) The webinar will be in Dutch and will not be recorded.
