The 2020 Conference on Acceleration in Developmental Education is coming up. This year we are seeking engaging proposals for 60-minute Breakout Sessions grounded in current research in the field of acceleration in developmental education that address: math, writing, integrated reading/writing, ESL, and non-cognitive factors.
We also invite Poster Proposal Submissions. Poster sessions may be solo or group presentations.Poster sessions are a means to communicate and exchange ideas, programs, research, and projects to fellow CADE attendees. Specific poster session presentation guidelines will be sent to poster session presenters if accepted.

We welcome proposals from those that have been engaged in this work for years, as well as schools new to acceleration. We encourage proposals that address forward-looking pedagogical practices, as well as new ways of imagining systematic mechanisms such as placement and co-requisite structures. Proposals that are data rich and examine long-running models, as well as sessions that offer new forward-looking practices are highly encouraged.

Our aim is for practitioners working in the field of acceleration, at all stages of implementation, to use this convening as a space for the exchange of promising curricular and pedagogical ideas, as well as a space for offering concrete strategies for enacting systematic changes that lean toward access and equity.

We will give priority to dynamic and thought-provoking presentations that actively involve participants.

We are particularly interested in proposals that address the following topics in fresh, engaging, and forward looking ways:

● Placement Reform, including Multiple Measures, Directed Self-Placement and ESL placement
● Culturally Responsive Assessment Practices and Pedagogy
● Contextualization in English/Reading and Math
● Reform in Math Pathways
● Accelerated Online Instruction
● Integrated Reading and Writing in Credit Composition Courses
● Equitable teaching and learning
● Co-requisite support in ESL
● Instructional strategies and systemic changes aimed at addressing non-cognitive challenges
●State/system-wide adoptions
●Curricula and hands-on classroom practices
