The great thing about Zoom Chapel is that children & youth from anywhere and everywhere can connect and build community!
Our in-person RE program runs on Sundays from 2:00pm - 3:30pm. Children & youth enjoy a sharing circle followed by stories, makerspace activities and collaborative art rooted in our shared UU values.
Zoom Programs: At Community Church, we practice the following online program policies and we encourage our Religious Education Families to follow these policies as well:
What we ask of parents & guardians on Zoom:
- Do not leave children unsupervised during Zoom sessions. You don't have to sit with them, but be within earshot in case of technical issues or questions.
- Video should remain ON for the duration of any session. This is so that the children build relationships and stay connected to each other and their program leaders.
- Children should be fully clothed before coming onto Zoom calls.
What Program Leaders will do on our end to prevent any problems from occurring:
- Program Leaders will have security controls as host and co-host of the sessions.
- The private chat function will be disabled during Zoom sessions to prevent private conversations, discursiveness and to help maintain safer online spaces.
- The screen sharing function will be allowed for children/youth only when they’ve received permission to share a project or item relevant to the program.
- While we welcome new families with children & youth anytime, we ask that folks follow the free registration process as opposed to sharing the direct zoom link, to help maintain safer online spaces, and keep attendance recording accurate.
