BIPOC Experiences in Bay Area Theater
This is a living, breathing document of individual cases and experiences of BIPOC artists and creatives in the Bay Area theater relating to m(i/a)cro-aggressions, overt racism, feeling unsafe, uncomfortable, and discriminated against in and around rehearsal hall, performance space, and/or general vicinity of said companies.

Our body houses the memory of our essence. Our body stores events, situations, and experiences that may or may not be detrimental to our own physical, mental, and/or psychological health. As artists and creatives of color, many of us have experienced racism and othering on a daily basis that we have opted to shut down our own body’s experience to avoid further trauma and pain.
