ASB Site Leader Application
Alternative Spring Break Site Leader Application.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a 2020-2021 ASB Site Leader. The success of each ASB trip depends heavily upon the quality of its leaders. In fact, strong leadership ensures the success and effectiveness of the ASB program as a whole. It is the responsibility of the Site Leaders to coordinate all on-site activities, facilitate participant training and education, and guide the team of students through an intense and rewarding service experience.

Please take your time when filling out the application as it will be read thoroughly. Your application will help create a picture of your leadership style and provide a basis for discussion during your interview. Your submitted essay responses, interviews, specific interests, and qualifications will be considered in the selection process.

Complete the following application, and submit no later than April 30th. Please direct any questions to Sandra Anderson at sanderson99@davenport.edu.

Required
Co-Site Leader Policy: The ASB site-leader plays a vital role in all aspects of the ASB experience. The responsibilities of the site-leader can be overwhelming for one person; therefore, each Alternative Break trip is assigned two site-leaders. Site leaders are expected to collaborate, cooperate, and share all responsibilities. Support of this policy is necessary for the success of the ASB program. *
Required
Alcohol/Drug Free Policy: The Alternative Spring Break Program promotes an alcohol/drug-free philosophy. This prohibits alcohol/drug consumption and/or illegal-irresponsible drug use by anyone, regardless of age, participating in the Alternative Spring Break program during the Break, including travel to, from, or at sites. Alcohol or drug use presents a major liability to the program and is also inappropriate when dealing with sensitive social issues of Alternative Break sites, in particular, communities with whom substance abuse could be a sensitive issue. Any participant who does not follow this policy will be asked to leave the program, and return to his or her place of residence at their own expense. Support of this policy by all involved is essential for a safe and socially aware break. *
Required
Site Leader Agreement: I hereby authorize the release of any information to Davenport University regarding my employment history, arrest or criminal history, or any other information pertinent to participating with the Alternative Spring Break program. I certify that all statements I have made on this application are truthful. If any statements are found to be false, I agree that this is sufficient cause for me to not participate in the Alternative Spring Break program. I verify that I have read through the Site Leader expectations and commitments listed in this application. If selected as a site leader, I will abide by these expectations. I understand that my application for Alternative Spring Break does not guarantee acceptance for the trip. *
