FLACKI DCON Host Committee
Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2023 Florida District Convention Host Committee. The host committee will be made up of members from across the District and will be responsible for assisting the District Board in running DCON. The host committee will be broken into subcommittees. Please note the registration, production, and decorations committee will have to arrive to DCON a few hours early. Every member of the host committee will help with take-down and clean-up on Saturday night.

Below you can find the descriptions of all subcommittees and example tasks. It is possible to be on more than one committee. 

Production Committee: this committee is responsible for setting up screens, projectors, audio, and transporting equipment around the convention area. Example tasks include:
  • Setting up main session audio, projectors, and screens
  • Setting up workshop rooms with projectors and screens
  • Transporting the equipment from cars to the office, the office to the session rooms, and vice versa
Registration Committee: this committee is responsible for setting up the registration desk, running registration, and organizing t-shirts. Example tasks include:
  • Setting up the registration desk
  • Running registration and making sure everyone is checked in to the hotel
  • Organizing the t-shirts and distributing them to members as they check-in
Decorations: this committee is responsible for brainstorming ideas for decorations and setting up decorations in all the rooms. Example tasks include:
  • Brainstorming decorations that fit our theme
  • Working with the District Board to purchase and order the decorations
  • Setting up decorations
