We're on the hunt for a suitable venue for Elm Camp 2024, and need your help!
The following are criteria that we will use in selecting a venue, based on our learnings from Elm Camp 2023:
Suitability:
- Can accommodate 60-80 participants for two or three days, providing them with room and full board
- Has at least two meeting rooms with screens: one with a capacity for all guests (i.e. 60-80 depending on accommodation provision) and other with a capacity of 40 - 50
- Has 2 or 3 further rooms with capacity of 10 - 20 suitable for meeting in smaller groups.
- Can cater the entire group in a single separate dining area
- Internet access
- Whiteboards, flip charts, screens
- Provision of tea, coffee etc throughout the day
- Site is easily and quickly reachable from a nearby airport or train station.
- Has some outside space, ideally with some seating / gathering areas
- Etc.
Local organizer:
- The venue must be near the home city of someone who can act as a local organizer and who is able to easily visit the venue and speak directly with its management.
- That person will be made a member of the organizing committee if that is not already the case.
Location:
- Ideally be easily accessible (plane, train) to at least one of the major Elm communities (Europe, USA)
Cost:
- We must try to minimize, to the extent possible, the quantity T + RB, where T is travel cost from a person’s home to the conference venue, and where RB is the per person room and board cost
