Innovative and Inclusive Academia 

This free event will take place on 19th and 20th October, 2023 at the University of Modena & Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), Modena, Italy and is jointly organised by the European Team-Based Learning Community (ETBLC) and UNIMORE, FAR UNIMORE FOMO mission oriented project “Innovative and Inclusive Academia”.
The Aim of the Symposium will be to share the results of the ‘Innovative and Inclusive Academia’ Research project on the concept of inclusion in the teaching and learning processes in Academia (19th October) followed by a whole day (20th of October) devoted to the analysis of innovative and inclusive teaching strategies, with particular reference to TBL and to its impact on gender and intersectional inequalities and on the quality of the learning and participation processes of students with disabilities, SLDs and other special educational needs, and the subsequent training of university teachers in the most inclusive and effective approaches and strategies for all students.
We will host a keynote lecture on ‘Being Inclusive with Team Based Learning’ by Professor Simon Tweddell - University of Bradford and call for external contributions on the following topics either as a research paper (Stream 1) or as experiences & practices communications (Stream 2).

A. Inclusive teaching and learning processes in tertiary education
B. Experiences on TBL implementation to foster inclusion
C. Using TBL in conjunction with other pedagogies to foster inclusion in tertiary education
D. Innovative approaches to facilitating TBL inclusive implementation
E. TBL for intercultural learning
F. Can TBL effectively address the gender gap in education?
