Football: “All teams must register and declare their intention to participate in provincials through their zone manager by June 15” (Policy XIV.4.E). This declaration should be made by the school athletic director. Please note that schools cannot register through the ASAA SRS until August or September: the ASAA registration deadline for football is not until October 1. Further, “if a team plays in a league that is made up mostly of teams from a different zone, that school (or the zone manager of the impacted school(s)) may submit a request to the ASAA Executive to compete out of their league’s zone for football only. Requests must be submitted by June 15.” (Policy XIV.4.B.ii.) Note: 6-a-side and 9-a-side football will continue to be operated by the Alberta 6-a-side and 9-a-side football leagues, with the ASAA providing the Provincial Playoffs.
