Code of Conduct

Welcome to Antioch’s October Alumni Circle Mini-Residency No.2! We believe this is a great opportunity for continuous learning and community building.

Antioch’s MFA Program, with our social justice mission, values the diversity of views, expertise, opinions, backgrounds, and experiences. We expect our Alumni Circle mini-residency to be a respectful, harassment-free environment for all people regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, physical ability, nationality, age, socioeconomic status, immigration status, and belief.

By agreeing to this code, you have confirmed your commitment to the above. You also agree not to share any Zoom Links related to the residency with friends, family, or the public, or on social media, groups, or forums.

Each event will have a Zoom Host. If any of the above are not followed, you will be moved out of the Zoom room and asked not to return to any other events.

We hope you enjoy this special opportunity!

ADDITIONAL WORKSHOP REGISTRATION (times are Pacific; you may sign up for more than one non-conflicting workshop, for example one on Saturday, one on Sunday. But you can't sign up for conflicting workshops (i.e. do not sign up for both Jeri's and Kim's workshops which run at the same time, or for Kris's and Andromeda's). Each workshop requires a suggested donation or waiver. This is not the same as seminars, which are free.
Workshopping Contract and Payment or Waiver Agreement (relates only to additional workshops, not to general seminars or panels)
Antioch MFA Alumni Circle Online Mini-Residency October 2021

Workshops require an additional degree of participation and cooperation to run successfully. If you register for a workshop, you agree to prepare advanced materials, if required. You also agree to read and critique your fellow participants' work, if required.

Generative workshops (which include time to write during the workshop) require less advance preparation than critique-oriented workshops, but there may still be some preparation and advance communication by email.

Workshops are also capacity-limited. No-shows reduce opportunities for others to participate.

PREPARATION AND ATTENDANCE
1. By agreeing to this contract, you are committed to reading emails from your facilitator, preparing as necessary, contributing to a welcoming and respectful workshop environment, and notifying the instructor as soon as possible (preferably at least one week prior to the workshop if not sooner) if you know you won't be able to attend. Cancellations will allow those on the waiting list to attend.

PAYMENT OR WAIVER
2. You also agree, within 24 hours of registration, to make a donation (suggestion: $15) to hold your place for the workshop, to help us increase accountability and make this workshop available to as many people as possible. Please follow this link to Antioch's Support page, and under "Designation" select "AULA Eloise Klein Healey Scholarship (MFA)". If you cancel your registration, the fee can't be returned.

We are committed is to make all of these activities available to as many alumni as possible, regardless of ability to pay. If for any reason you prefer not to make a donation, you are encouraged to apply for a no-questions waiver by clicking that option below.

We hope you enjoy these Alumni Circle activities!
