Volunteer to help at Pi Wars!
Hello!
Using this form, you'll be able to sign up to let us know you're happy to volunteer at Pi Wars this year.
The event takes place on Saturday, 20th and Sunday, 21st April at the William Gates Building in Cambridge, UK.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to attend the event in-person in order to volunteer! You should have good spoken English (to communicate with the teams) and be able to read and understand the rules and the scoresheets (which are fairly straightforward!).

You can sign up to volunteer for either (or both) days and say whether or not you'd like to be a Judge or a Marshal (or both).

Thanks for considering being a volunteer - we cannot do the event without you and your help is appreciated more than we can possibly say! Plus, it's fun! :-)

We will use this address to contact you, so please make sure it's correct :-)
Which day(s) would you like to volunteer at Pi Wars? *
Please tick as many as you can!
The day runs from around 9am to 6pm. We will endeavour to give you 2-3 duty slots of 1 hour each, depending on how many days you volunteer. Sometimes they are longer, sometimes we need to give you more duties to spread things around. We've received a lot of feedback that volunteering is fun (and we concur - all the organisers are volunteers too!).
Required
Would you like to assist with Judging and/or Marshalling? *
For Judging, we will provide all the scoresheets and information you need to be a good Judge. All we ask is that you are diligent and consistent when marking the scoresheets. Mostly, it's just a case of ticking boxes, using a stopwatch and sometimes "rescuing" the robots when they fall over or get stuck! We will try and make sure you're not on your own when Judging, and you can always ask for help!

For Marshalling, there are various duties that need to be done, including manning the Front Desk, being a Runner (retrieving the Judge's scoresheets and returning them to the Front Desk for collation) and generally helping teams and spectators get to where they need to be.
Required
Will you be over 16 years of age by 20th April? *
This year, we are asking all volunteers to be at least 16 years old. This is to comply with our safeguarding policies.
Have you helped at Pi Wars before? *
Are there any restrictions, in terms of times, that you can be at the event?
This is so we can work around any other commitments you may have.
Is there any more information you'd like to give us at this stage, or any questions you would like to ask? We'll get back to you as soon as we can!
