BROWN GIRLS CODE LONG BEACH CLUBS (BGC-LB) APPLICATION  ~ YEAR 2022-23

Our BGC LONG BEACH Club Cycle will begin on Wednesday, AUGUST 24, 2022, 5:30PM - 7:30PM PACIFIC STANDARD TIME unless otherwise noted. We will meet 2-3 TIMES a month via a hybrid format (In Person or Virtual via Zoom on Wednesdays). The deadline to apply is at 11:59pm PST on 8/07/22.
 
BGC Long Beach applications are open for Girls in Grades 5 - 8 and Grades 9 - 12. Both groups will have a semester project that consists of physically building and coding:

Group A: 5th to 8th graders
Group B: 9th to 12th graders

Clubs will include certified Instructors and Presenters from Top IT companies, government and military. Girls will learn to code while exploring core topics related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.). Clubs will also include hands-on activities either at home or in person. Girls will learn to collaborate on projects as they form a sisterhood and build in-demand skills to prepare them for 21st Century opportunities.

Girls will explore: Digital Safety, Cybersecurity, Computer Programming (incl. Robotics), Game Design, Entrepreneurship, Creative Programming (Web/App Development) and Computer Science.

What you can expect during this process:

1. Complete this application.
2. BGC-LONG BEACH Applications will be reviewed following the deadline. Parents will be notified of acceptance into program (or waitlisted)
3. Parents will then be sent a link to REGISTER their Coders. Parents will receive official schedule and other forms) via email address provided on application approval. Location details will be provided at this time.
4. Parents will upload forms and submit their investment by deadline. More details will be provided in your welcome email.
