NPIEN’s Christina Diaz Student Scholar Award Nomination Form - DUE JUNE 14, 2024
Please fill out this form by June 14, 2024 to nominate a student.

CRITERIA:

1. Pacific Islander students (Example: Chamorro (Guam, Marianas Islands), Fijian, Hawaiian, Maori, Marshallese, Samoan, Tahitian, Tongan, Palauan, and other Pacific islands) and any other students who have participated in Pacific Islander student club or community activities) in grades 6-12, or college or university are eligible for the NPIEN Christina Diaz Student Scholar Award, named after the Late Christina Diaz, Native Hawaiian woman and NPIEN sponsor and supporter.  
2. Students may be nominated by their school's teacher, professor, counselor, or administrator.
3. Students are selected based on their academic achievement (minimum 2.5 GPA), improved academic achievement, and participation in school and community service and extracurricular activities.
4. At least Five college and /or high school students will be selected for a minimum $500 scholarship based on this application. At least Two middle school students receive a $100 scholarship. All students will be recognized at the NPIEN National Conference on October 26, 2024 at Hayward High School, California with a medallion and multiple certificates. Additional grant or internship opportunities may also be available to Christina Diaz Scholar recipients.  The number of Scholarships unfortunately may be based on the number of members in a certain region.  Wish us luck on our fundraising. :)
5. Note that individual NPIEN Chapters (Example: Northern California Chapter, Utah Chapter) MAY have scholarships for students in their specific geographical areas but this is contingent on local membership All students are eligible for the Christina Diaz Scholars Awards regardless of geography.
