Operation Backpack Application
OPERATION BACKPACK is a weekend feeding program working to alleviate childhood hunger in North Topeka and to encourage children in need. To ensure the nutritional needs of children are met when school is not in session, the program provides a small sack of food for youth to take home for the weekend. The food sack contains a two-day supply of nutritional, kid-friendly snacks and single-serving size food items that are easy for youth to prepare. Volunteers discreetly distribute the food sacks at the school.

TO QUALIFY FOR THIS PROGRAM:
Children must receive free or reduced lunches AND meet one other qualifying factor found below. Eligibility will also be based on the availability of program funds. Priority determination will be given to those who are single working parents, foster parents, grandparent parents, and disabled parents. Postcards will be mailed if you are NOT approved for the program.
