DO YOU MIND...
...That the healthcare system isn't designed to meet the mental health needs of queer, trans, and Two-Spirit youth?
Do You Mind? equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to the mental health challenges facing our communities. Participants can expect to make new friends while gaining a range of personal and practical skills in the areas of mental health and community-based health promotion. Participants will learn from and build connections with community leaders and organizations.
The program will run in a ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐, with the majority of the program delivered between September 12th and 19th. We will have an in person meeting from 10-6 on September 12th, two online presentations throughout the week, and a second in person meeting from 10-6 on September 19th.
But thereโs more! Following the completion of Do You Mind?, participants will work together, supported by the Youth Project, to develop and launch their very own community mental health project to address local needs.
