AVID APPLICATION- SHERWOOD MS (incoming 7th/8th Graders)
AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. In the AVID Elective students become part of a tight-knit community of learners through their participation in the class, while also building the skills and tools necessary to achieve their academic and life goals. AVID Elective students are people who are interested in pursuing a college/career preparatory path and who are highly motivated.

Because the AVID Elective is rigorous and requires a high degree of personal motivation to achieve, there is an application process for this course. The first step of that process is completing this form. After completing the form, a representative from the SMS AVID Site Team will contact you regarding an interview.

If you would like to know more about AVID as a program, you are encouraged to check out the national AVID website: https://www.avid.org/
