Planning Meeting Options:

Co-Planning: It is important that we tailor our lessons to our new students each year. Do you have a lesson coming up in your curriculum that you would like to revamp? Let’s work together to make an interactive and engaging lesson that your students will love!

Resources: If you have a lesson in mind, but you would like to look for some updated resources for your students to engage in reading comprehension strategies, writing techniques, and grammar lessons, make sure to book this session and I will provide you with several resources that are on grade level for your students.

Differentiated Instruction: This technique can be challenging, but in order to support our students, it is necessary. During this session, we will work together to determine what technological resources, grouping techniques, and literary texts can be utilized in order to achieve differentiated instruction within your classroom.

Lesson Practice: Are you trying out a new teaching technique? If so, please book this session and we can practice the new technique together before it is presented to the students.

Technology Infusion: Do you have a great lesson in mind, but would like to add in some interactive technology for your students? During this session, we can work together to find virtual websites, games, and literature that will be beneficial for your students.

Instructional Meeting Options:

Team Teaching: Do you have a lesson coming that requires 1:1 attention for your students? If so, let’s teach it together! I can co-teach with you, lead writing conferences/reading comprehension assessments, and I can work with student groups that may need some extra help.

Demonstration Lesson: During this session, I can demonstrate specific teaching techniques that align with our district’s goals for you to view. For example, I can demonstrate how to incorporate one of our literacy initiatives into your lesson, how to achieve a certain standard, or how to lead a successful writing/ reading comprehension conference.

Instructional Feedback: As we progress throughout the year, it is important to make sure that our teaching style is being tailored to the needs of our students. If you would like some feedback on a lesson that will not be documented for an official observation, I would love to meet with you and share my praise and my suggestions on your lesson

Intervention Support: Let’s work together to support your students that could use additional assistance in class in order to succeed. We will review key intervention strategies for reading, writing, and grammar techniques.

Mock Lesson Before An Observation: Do you have an observation coming up? Let’s work together and get some practice. Practicing your lesson out loud will help your words to flow more fluently on your observation day. I will provide you with feedback and we can discuss specific areas of the Danielson Method that you would like some feedback on.

Reflection Meeting Options:

Brainstorming: Is there a certain unit that you taught that didn’t go as planned? This is a normal part of the teaching process! Let’s reflect on how the unit went together and we will plan new ways to enhance the unit for this year.

Listening & Supporting: Sometimes, all we need is someone to listen. All great teachers focus on supporting their students, but sometimes, we need some support too, and that’s okay! If you would like to have a “sit and chat” session, let’s meet to see how I can support you.

Data Analysis: Are you interested in determining effective ways to track your students’ progress? Let’s choose the standards that you would like to track and we can work together to develop methods to determine where the students could use additional assistance.

Professional Development: Some say that teachers are also lifelong students and I have to agree! Every day we are striving to learn new techniques to improve our instruction. Please choose a professional development session on one of the provided topics and I will share how you can best include the following concepts within your classroom: Essay Writing Techniques For Students, Trauma-Informed Care, Choosing Diverse Texts, Visible Learning, Gamification Methods

Book a coaching session for a subject other than language arts:

Literacy Across Subject Areas: Including literacy skills within your lesson, regardless of the content area, is important for our students to succeed. However, it can sometimes be intimidating to dabble in a content area that you were not trained in. Let’s meet to discuss ways to effectively teach and grade reading, writing, and grammatical skills within your classroom.
