Mid-Columbia Ballet will leave on some lights, lower the music, and invite individuals with disabilities/special needs and their families to a sensory-friendly performance of the beloved Christmas tradition, The Nutcracker. This relaxed 75-minute performance has been specially created to serve families with children who have related sensory disorders. This performance has no cost for families, but we request that each family register using the following form.

What makes this performance friendly to the senses? In addition to the adjusted volumes of light and sound, your family can experience the show in their own way, without the need to worry about members of your group needing to move around or making sounds during the presentation. This inclusive, "shush-free" setting will also include a space for break area in the lobby. Finally, a week before the presentation, all registered guests will receive an email with an electronic copy of The Nutcracker Social Story, which will help their family members with special needs prepare for the exciting trip to the theater.
