Code of Ethics:

As a volunteer, I realize that I am subject to the same code of ethics which binds professionals in the field of which I work/volunteer. I assume these responsibilities and will respect matters of confidentiality. Having accepted the task, I will do my work to the best of my ability and carefully plan and carry out my duties in a professional manner. I will share my skills with the VCC and fellow General Board members, so that together we can enrich the project on which we are collaborating. Being eager to contribute all that I can to help enhance the quality of life within my community, I accept this Volunteer Code of Ethics as my code and will follow it carefully and with a positive attitude.

Volunteer Services Confidentiality Statement:

I, the undersigned, do hereby acknowledge that in my volunteer role for the Vicenza Community Club, I may have access to confidential information. I will protect the confidentiality of individuals, organizations and any personal identifying information of the board or other general members.

Furthermore, board members shall not discuss or disclose information about the VCC to any person or entity unless such information is already a matter of public knowledge, such person or entity has a need to know, or the disclosure of such information is in furtherance of the VCC’ purposes, or can reasonably be expected to benefit the VCC. Board members shall use discretion and good judgment in discussing the affairs of the VCC with third parties.

I acknowledge and agree that disclosure by me of confidential information obtained by me in the course of my volunteer status could be cause for termination from my volunteer position.

*

Photography Release:

By signing this release, I agree to allow my picture/video to be taken in my volunteer capacity or as a member and released to the public for official publicity purposes of the VCC.

*

Gratuitous Service Agreement:

I expressly agree that my services will be performed without pay and that I will not, solely because of these services, be considered an employee of the U.S. Government or any instrumentality thereof. I expressly agree that I will neither expect, nor demand, any present or future salary, wage, or related benefits as payment for gratuitous service. I agree to participate in whatever training may be required in order to perform the gratuitous work for which I am providing.

Members of the VCC Executive Board and General Board shall not receive any compensation for their services as board members to the VCC.
*

Organizational and Personal Expectations:

The Vicenza Community Club has standard organizational expectations of its volunteers to perform the duties for the positions which they fill. Duties and expectations are listed in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), job descriptions and/or other instructions from the VCC Articles of Incorporation, By-laws and Standing Rules which are provided to each board position at the beginning of the VCC fiscal year.

I will coordinate with the Parliamentarian or VCC Executive Board member who is my assigned Point of Contact, to assure that my skills are well matched with my volunteer role. I promise to maintain an attitude of open mindedness and be willing to train for the job for which I am assigned. Volunteers should have identifiable personal and professional development expectations and notify their POC if the VCC is not meeting those expectations. All reasonable measures will be made to satisfy the needs and expectations of both the VCC and the person volunteering.

*

Safety:

Volunteers should never put themselves in an unsafe situation, and should report to their POC any unsafe conditions or practices immediately. The VCC does not ever ask any volunteer to perform an unsafe action, nor condone one in your presence. It is up to the volunteer to notify their POC of any limitations they might have in performing any physical activity for the VCC which might be a safety hazard for themselves or of any request which makes them feel unsafe.

*

Grievance Procedures:

Standard procedures used to investigate and/or adjudicate incidents involving volunteers are used, when appropriate, to investigate and/or adjudicate similar incidents arising from voluntary services provided. Immediate investigation of an incident will occur when there are voluntary service incidents involving property damage, destruction or loss or physical property; the injury or death of any person, including the volunteer; or when other competent authority directs. Reports of volunteers injured while performing accepted volunteer work will mirror those of the regulations used at USAG AVC, according to AR 385-40.

*

Volunteer Etiquette:

Being a representative of the VCC includes presenting yourself in a manner that enhances the professionalism and community spirit of the VCC team. Volunteering should be an enjoyable experience for all parties involved. Meetings and activities will be conducted without divisive confrontations, hostilities, or negative attitudes towards others or the VCC. Any time a volunteer causes hardship or conflict, participates in negative social media and gossip that reflects poorly on the VCC, or fails to attend two consecutive board meetings or three total; a majority vote of the Executive Board can require resignation of said volunteer.

*

Volunteer Discount Policy:

The VCC would like to recognize it’s volunteers of the club with the following Thrift Store discount; 50% off items priced $10 or less, and 25% off items priced over $10. *Discounts will not be given on sale days (half-off, bag sales, ect.).
