Note from the Volunteer Office:

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Keeper Aides are accepted every 3 months. The list of orientations for keeper aides are: 
- August 10 at 10am
- November 16 at 10am

You are applying now to start in our April 2024 cohort.
  • Each cohort training session must be completed within 3 months. Training is done online, and may not take the entire 3 months.
Volunteering at the Zoo is a minimum 6 month commitment that requires weekly shifts. There is a 1 time registration fee and yearly annual $36 dues to stay active in the program. 

All Adult volunteers must be 18yrs or older. 

All prospective volunteers must attend an orientation session onsite at the Zoo. 

Registration Fees: (include training, uniform polo shirt, nametag and materials)
Keeper Aide - $80
