Application Deadline for Mentors: August 11, 2023
AFP South Sound provides members many opportunities to connect and build community. One opportunity is a unique learning journey through our mentoring program.
Mentorship can be the difference between being successful in your position and in fundraising. We are looking for incredible people like you to mentor a new wave and growing wave of fundraisers in our area!
We aim to match well-rounded mentors with individuals who are interested in learning more about fundraising or want to co-learn with a trusted colleague. This provides focused discussions, problem solving and sharing the trials and tribulations of working in this dynamic (yet sometimes challenging) industry.
Relationships are not meant to be consulting relationship. Mentors are encouraged to recommend appropriate resources, workshops, educational opportunities, vendors or consultants. The mentoring program is not a job placement service.
Mentee applicants will be matched with a mentor on a first come, first served basis until all of the slots are filled. We recommend that mentors and mentees tell their employers about their participation in the program. Both must respect that the information they share about their organizations is confidential.
Apply today to join us!
Mentor requirements for participation:
• Membership in AFPSS
• A minimum of five years of experience in fundraising
• Adherence to the AFP Ethical Principles and Standards
• A desire to share development knowledge and build mentoring skills
• A commitment to partnering with your mentee for 1 year
o Minimum of 4 face-to-face or virtual meetings, phone calls, and emails
