Registration for Decriminalization and Safe Supply Panel - Feb 3, 2022 @ 12pm MST
The inner city health elective, designed specifically for early medical trainees, is all about providing future physicians with the information, understanding, and experience necessary to critically analyze major health issues in the inner city. Given the incredibly urgent and unacceptable levels of mortality and harm caused by the drug poisoning crisis, this issue is the main focus for our elective. Although decriminalization is, in some ways, a legal concept and for some may fall out of their area of familiarity, we hope to discuss why it matters to future physicians and how we can translate our realm of expertise into advocating for evidence-based, compassionate, and just policy and healthcare for inner city communities.
