Term 3 Basketball Programme

We will be running both Groups at the same time but on separate courts. Please sign your child up by selecting the appropriate Group. If signing up more than one child, please add the extra information where required.

Where: YMCA North Shore, 5 Akoranga Drive, Northcote
When: Thursdays 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Cost: $75 ($70 for HASCA members)

Group 1: ages 5 – 10
• Ball skills - including, ball control, passing, dribbling
• Shooting - lay-ups and jump shots
• Defense – how to defend and stick with the person you are marking
• Basic basketball game rules and how we can avoid breaking them
• Most weeks will finish on a game, if time allows. (10-15 mins)

Group 2: ages 11+
• Ball skills (extended) - including, ball control, passing, dribbling
• Shooting - lay-ups and jump shots including 3 pointers
• Defense – stance, defensive slides, man to man
• Offence – cutting, screening, curling, learning how to get free
• Rebounding, boxing out
• Most weeks will finish on a game, if time allows. (10-15 mins)
