Dear Senator Martin Looney of the 11th District,

This is a PETITION TO OPPOSE SB568 & HB6423 the removal of the Religious Exemption, also being referred to by members of the Public Health Committee as the, "NON-MEDICAL EXEMPTION".

The signatures of those opposed in this petition are strictly from your district. As YOUR constituents we ask you oppose legislation that discriminates against a minority of people in Connecticut.  We MUST allow all people to practice their beliefs without segregation and discrimination. Something this country is fighting so hard to preserve at this very moment in time.

On January 4, 2021 The Connecticut Office of Legislative Research published a report which acknowledged proposing a Covid19 vaccine requirement for school and childcare. Although we understand this is separate legislation the two issues go hand in hand. No one should be taking away a person's only right to decline the same year legislation is potentially introduced to mandate new vaccine not even approved yet for children.

A person's right to religious freedoms is protected under our US constitution. Never has it been scientifically proven that this exemption has impacted the health of other people's children or other community members in Connecticut. We must ensure that the religious freedoms for public/private school children and our communities is maintained in our state.
