Hi Mock Trial Volunteers,

First of all, thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 2020 Mock Trial State Finals. We have been closely monitoring all of the government agencies’ guidance concerning the prevention of the spread of Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) and safety precautions and have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Mock Trial State Finals scheduled for March 20-22. The health and safety of the students, coaches, volunteers, and families is our top priority.

We know that a number of teams have had to cancel over the past few days due to travel restrictions, and we expect more schools and districts to follow-suit. In addition, in coming days we expect guidance from local and state health departments to urge stronger restrictions on gatherings and recommend additional social distancing. We know that several states have or are in the process of canceling their state competitions as well.

Again, this has been a gut-wrenching decision, but we think the protection of everyone’s health and well-being is the top priority.

We at CRF appreciate everything you do to make mock trial an outstanding experience for students. We understand how disappointing the cancellation of Mock Trial is for all the participants and volunteers. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
