Memorial Day Parade Volunteer Sign-Up (2024)

The Eastwood Memorial Day Parade is on Monday, May 27, 2024. The parade starts at the American Legion at 102 Nichols Ave and proceeds west to Greenway Veterans Memorial Park at the intersection of James and Grant, concluding with a Memorial Ceremony honoring fallen veterans. 

We are looking for 13 volunteers (or 13 pairs if you want to volunteer with a friend) to help with traffic control along the route. Syracuse Police will manage traffic at major intersections, but at minor streets we need volunteers to set up DPW saw-horse barricades and, if needed, ask drivers to wait until the parade passes or go around the parade route, and take down the barricades when the work is done. It’s really easy and you’ll earn an Eastwood t-shirt!

We need volunteers to cover the following intersections with James Street:

  3. Stafford Ave
  4. Marlborough Rd 
  5. Lillian Ave 
  6. Woodbine Ave
  7. Ashdale Ave
  8. Hillsdale Ave
  9. S Collingwood Ave
  10. N Collingwood Ave
  11. N Edwards Ave
  12. S Edwards Ave
  13. Rigi Ave
