Registrations close Friday March 6th to allow time for the Junior Selections Committee to co-ordinate and submit teams to Tennis Geelong prior to Grading.

By filling in the form below you will be providing details necessary for placement in a Junior Team for WINTER Tennis.  You will also be agreeing to the terms of Winter Tennis at Ocean Grove Tennis Club.

All players are required to be members of Ocean Grove Tennis Club.  The Annual fee for Junior Members is $60 Ball Fees are also applicable  - $30 per season played (Not payable if Annual Ball Money has been paid already)

In some cases; a Team of Four players only may be created but would require commitment to every game.  Tick YES if you are committed and able to play EVERY WEEKEND.  Do not tick YES if you know there are multiple weeks that you will be unavailable: holidays, parent commitments, shared care, party’s, other sporting or school commitments. An opportunity will be provided for you to advise dates that parents/juniors are unavailable.  A roster will be provided before the commencement of season showing transport/supervision duty for parents and rotations for players. We try to accommodate your unavailable dates when rostering so that juniors do not miss out on too much play.   Players may still be required to fill in for other teams if they are available when rotated out.

Tennis Geelong and Ocean Grove Tennis Club has a zero-tolerance policy for any unacceptable behaviour on or off the court.  This applies to competing players, family members and spectators.                                                                                                     Ocean Grove Tennis Club has recently formalised a Junior Team Selection Policy which outlines the intricate process of team selection and the many variables that are considered during this process. The policy also formalises the procedure that is to be followed if individuals have any concerns.Finally, the policy outlines the clubs’ expectations when it comes to interactions with members of the junior or club executive.                                                                                                                                               Tennis Geelong Rules and Code of Conduct, By-Laws and the OGTC Team Selection Policy can be found under BY-LAWS & FORMS on Team App

Parents are involved with their child(ren) as supervisors during the season as rostered by the Junior Committee. If unable to supervise when rostered, it is the parent’s duty to arrange another adult. *

Parents are involved with their child(ren) and will be required to transport the team during the season as rostered by the Junior Committee. If unable to transport the team when rostered, it is the parent’s duty to arrange another adult in the team to provide transport.  Transport is required for all FOUR players to AWAY games.
Parents and Players must be available and willing to assist with team umpiring duties during Finals Weeks. All players and parents are expected to represent the OGTC when umpiring during Finals Games.
Teams that do not make Grand Finals will be allocated ONE umpiring duty during the three weeks of finals.  Parents can assist by umpiring in the Chair or as lines person.  All players are expected to assist with line umpiring.
In the event of accident or emergency, I authorise the representative of Ocean Grove Tennis Club to consent, where impracticable to communicate with me, to my child(ren) receiving medical treatment as may be deemed necessary. *

FRIDAY NIGHT SQUAD
Squad is by invitation only for players who have shown potential and a serious commitment to their game through competition, regular coaching and tournament play. Squad group participation is based on ability rather than age with participants matched against players of similar ability and strength.  Invitation to participate in Squad at any level is at the discretion of the Junior Committee and Coaches.

Coaches will focus on technical, tactical and fundamental motor skill progressions relevant to the level of squad. Players will work on improving their endurance, strength and flexibility. Intensive drills and match play are also used to further develop and enhance their competitive edge.

Another important aspect of squad is the social element of team play, interacting with others and developing in a team environment.

Squads fees are subsidised by the Ocean Grove Tennis Club for eligible* competing Juniors as an incentive to participate in this extra coaching session.   Squads run for 8 Weeks commencing first Friday each term

Squad is not a substitute for normal coaching sessions, it is designed to enhance and reinforce what is taught in a normal coaching session.

4:30 - 5:30 Junior Development Squad    - David Franks and Junior Coaches
5:30 - 6:30 Intermediate Squad - David Franks and Junior Coaches
6:30 - 8:00 Advanced Squad - David Franks and Julie Golightly

Junior and Intermediate Squad - 1 Hour - $160 - or $80 * for coached and playing members (Half Price)
Advanced Squad - 1.5 Hours - $200 - or $100* for coached and playing members (Half Price)

*A Discount is applied for current playing members.  A further discount is applied for currently coached juniors.
