Volunteer to Judge the 2024 CALEB Award
Omega Writers are looking for keen Christian readers to volunteer to judge the 2024 CALEB Award. Are you interested?

The categories for 2024 will be:
- Published Adult Fiction
- Published Young Adult Fiction
- Published Middle Grade and Early Reader
- Published Picture Books
- Published Adult and Young Adult Nonfiction (excluding Devotionals)

First-round judges need to read and judge the first 10,000 words between 1 May and 18 June 2024.

Final-round judges will read and judge the whole book (up to 120,000 words) between 1 July and 20 August 2024.

The award is open to Published Christian writers from Australia and New Zealand, and entries will open on 1 April 2024.

Picture books are provided in hard copy (3 copies for the first round, and an additional 3 copies for finalists)
Other entries are provided as PDF files (so you can read them on your computer or e-reader).

If this sounds like you, we'd love to have you on board. First-round judges can volunteer to judge between four and ten entries in any category they are not entering. Final-round judges will judge all the finalists in their category (usually three, but sometimes four books).

If you're interested, fill your details below and we'll be in touch. If you have a friend who'd be interested, please send them the link to this form.

If you have any questions, please email Kate Mackereth, CALEB Award Coordinator, at caleb @ omegawriters.com.au (note the new email address).

I understand the CALEB Award recognises and celebrates excellence among Christians who write. This may include the writing of books for the Christian market or for the general market. As such, I expect the writing I read and judge to be consistent with Christian worldviews and values, even if they do not contain overt Christian content.
