WHEN: Anytime during the month of May 2022
WHERE: Anywhere you move. This could be inside, outside, on your stationary bike, on a hike, walking with friends, playing basketball, anything!
WHAT/WHY:
The Medfield Coalition for Suicide Prevention (MCSP), a Medfield Foundation initiative, is once again hosting a virtual campaign to promote movement and wellness during the month of May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month. Recognizing the role that exercise and movement play in the promotion of mood and enhancement of well-being, we are inviting our community to join us to get up, get moving, and share their activity with the Medfield community during the month-long event. We are calling the initiative “Medfield Moves for Mental Health" and the idea is to promote any sort of movement or exercise, including walking, running, spinning, playing with your kids, skateboarding, etc.
We ask registrants to share photos of themselves "moving for mental health" on social media with the hashtag #MedfieldMovesforMentalHealth. Each week, we will hold drawings for anyone who participates and shares a photo. Each photo submitted (one allowed daily) will be entered into a drawing to win items donated from local businesses. In addition, the first 25 registrants will receive a FREE "Medfield Moves for Mental Health" t-shirt. We are hoping that this event encourages people to take care of their physical and emotional well-being and to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of seeking mental health support.
COST: We kindly request donations to MCSP (see donation links below) if resources permit. No one will be denied participation based on inability to donate.
If you are participating as part of a team, please make sure that each member of the team submits a separate registration. This will ensure that each participant receives their own t-shirt!
