*** Math Champs is sponsored by PTA, run by parent volunteers and are not monitored or managed by school officials.***
Math Champs after-school classes are for CPE students from Grade 2-5. We plan to have a 1hr class per week, subject to PTA approval, availability of classroom, and parent volunteers to teach and help in the class. We have limited availability, so please RSVP early. Preference will be given to previous year participants and PTA members (any one person in the family can be a member).
The Math Kangaroo International tournament for Grade 1-5 will be conducted at the school. Date and Time are TBD in September. It will be open to all Grade 1-5 CPE students, but limited to first 50 Math Kangaroo tournament registrations due to capacity limit.
*** If you wish to register for Math Kangaroo at CPE, but not in the Math Champs weekly classes, you do not have to fill this RSVP. Lookout for the flyer in the Parent Square PTA group around mid September. ***

Plan for Math Champs is to run 2 separate groups:
Grade 2-3: Focus area will be fun Math problems based on
Math Kangaroo.
Grade 3-4-5: Focus will be
Math Olympiad (MOEM) questions for practice and monthly contests from Nov-Mar. We will also work on Math Kangaroo fun problems that builds thinking and Math concepts.
Monthly Math Olympiad contests will be available to only Math Champs in Grade 4 & 5 and maybe some Grade 3 students. Our school is registered and covers up to 35 students.
RSVP does not mean you are registered. It just tells us that you are interested. We will contact you before the classes start, to inform you whether you are accepted or waitlisted, and next steps.
*** We are full for the 2023-2024 school year. You can RSVP to join the waitlist, but you will be contacted only if a space opens up or when we begin RSVP for the next year in August 2024. ***
Math Champ classes are free. One time contribution of $25 per student is requested at the beginning to cover material/operating costs/year-end awards and Olympiad registration. PTA is not allowed to cover these expenses. Math Kangaroo contest registration will be separate and parents will have to directly register and pay (last year fee was $35) for that tournament.
