2022-2023 SCVS Clubs - Student Application
This year, we are expecting to have the following clubs available for students to join. Please read the description of each club (below) before filling out the remainder of this application.

Club sponsors will contact families with further information. Typically, clubs are once per month.

GRADES K-5
Art Club (grades K-5)
In this club, students will use a variety of materials to make beautiful and fun works of art!

STEM Club (grades K-3)
I am excited to be hosting the K-3rd STEM Club this year. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.  I plan to incorporate all of these into fun hands-on experiences that will encourage creativity and out of the box thinking.  Every meeting we will start with a STEM story picture book then we will move into hands-on activities related to the book.  We will be exploring things like roller coasters, circuits, bubbles, tower building, programming, and much more.  I am excited to be hosting the 4th-7th STEM Club this year. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.  I plan to incorporate all of these into fun hands-on experiences that will encourage creativity and out of the box thinking.  Every meeting we will explore a new topic then we will do a hands-on challenge.  Some examples for this year are tower building, catapults, roller coasters, 3D modeling and much more.  Depending on Seminole County rules we will try to compete in the county's Rube Goldberg's competition if possible. Sunshine State Young Readers Club (grades 3-5)
Are you ready to go on a journey while reading a book? Would you like to meet new characters and explore amazing places? The Sunshine State Readers Club is just right for you!
 
SRC will read the amazing books nominated for the 2021-22 Sunshine State Young Readers Award. Activities include book talks and fun ways to connect with the characters in the books. In the spring, we will participate in the Battle of the Books! How many will you read!?

GS Alliance (grades 6-8)
Our GS Alliance will focus on values of equity, tolerance, and acceptance for all and will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for LGBTQIA+ students, and those wish to support them in their journey.

MEETING TIME:  4th Friday of each month from 10:00 am - 11:00 am

The program provides a forum for students to become aware of career opportunities in education and nurtures their interest in teaching as a career.

Student Government (grades 9-12)
SCVS student government association (SGA) will demonstrate the principles of democratic government and will have a voice in cultivating ideas of service and develop good citizenship by giving the students an opportunity to have a part in educational, recreational, social, and charitable activities initiated and sponsored by the school. SGA will serve as the voice to support the student body at SCVS.
