Youth Worker Training “LIVING THE QUESTIONS”
This training is an opportunity to make something for you and the for world — it will be the experience you make out of it!

This guide contains very important information about what to expect, what you’ll need to get the most out of the experience and how to actually get here and other practical information.

Arrival date:  21st June 2021
Departure date : 30th June 2021

This youth worker training will bring together a diverse international group of participants, in a mountain location immersed completely in nature, to share experiences and receive training on ecosocial design and ways to integrate attitudes and behaviours that promote positive change towards a sustainable, enriching life.

The project is based on the Permaculture Design Certificate course with methodology of non-formal education that particularly resonates with young people as they become environmentally conscious, learn vital skills and seek employment.

The key elements of the training are 1) to recognise the importance of connecting with nature and exploring the answers to questions about the future in community 2) create positive narratives to share with youth about interbeing, active hope based on an understanding of systems thinking 3) understand how regenerative design based on permaculture and ecology can be applied to different areas of life - “We are all ecosocial designers” 4) Provide youth workers with diverse, engaging tools to share these ideas with youth.

We aim to pass on knowledge and inspiration to the participants, as well as emphasise the importance of personal reflection and rest time/mindfulness and provide strategies to encourage this. We also  offer participants hands-on experience in the diverse vegetable gardens, tree-planting projects, energy and water systems at Sanillés, the site of the training.

The expected outcomes are to develop attitudes of active hope, understand the importance of systems thinking and resilience, develop positive ideas for climate change adaptation, improve self-care and mental health, and take away practical tools for the application of ecosocial design.

The Boodaville Project, Sanilles and Permaculture

The Boodaville Association provides opportunities for learning about permaculture, ecology and designing regenerative cultures. We are developing a land project and demonstration site in the Matarranya region of Spain – 2.5 hours from Barcelona, and we coordinate EU projects with the European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus+ programs.

Permaculture is an ethical design framework, that leads us to an ecologically sound way of living. Inspired by nature, permaculture allows us to develop efficient and productive systems that can be used by anyone, anywhere in our households, gardens, communities and businesses.

As we confront the ecological collapse of our living world, we can use these principles of cooperation with nature and care for the earth and its people to create regenerative cultures and positive change.

Sanillés is an Eco-Living project in an ideal setting in the Spanish Pyrenees. The project is managed by Frank Lamprill and his family and they host courses, offer accommodation for tourists and are open to locals as a Spa / Swimming Pool with water from local hot springs. They are developing ways to redesign energy and resource use and work with volunteers to produce vegetable gardens and orchards. The space is an idyllic natural setting, perfect for connecting with natural ecosystems, reflecting, and learning.
