This scholarship gives priority to students in District 20 committed to building a more just and inclusive society, as demonstrated through activities to date as well as future goals. You will have a chance to describe your activities and plans in the letter of interest, described below.

This scholarship is available to students who attend or are planning to attend a community college, a four-year university, or a graduate school during the 2020-2021 school year. Scholarships can only be applied to education at a Maryland school unless it is approved for Unique Major Status through the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Please follow the application checklist on the following page, and complete the electronic questionnaire. Applications must be completed and submitted by Wednesday, May 13th, 2020. Awardees will be informed by Monday, June 15th, 2020.

Delegate Charkoudian is an advocate for students without documentation and was proud to vote in favor of a bill that passed the General Assembly last year which expands the eligibility of Delegate and Senator scholarships to anyone who is eligible for in-state tuition. Starting this year, the Delegate looks forward to giving all students a chance at being awarded a scholarship from her office.
