New Arab American Theater Works has an exciting opportunity for a limited number of people to participate in our drum ensemble this summer. We are especially interested in giving opportunity to SWANA (Southwest Asian/North African) and BIPOC community members. Those selected will meet on Saturday mornings from June-August for training in traditional Middle Eastern/North African drumming. The practice will culminate in a showcase for a public audience.

We are looking for people who are excited to learn traditional drumming, who are committed to our program for the entire summer, and willing to participate in a final drum concert. Ideal candidates are good at working in a group situation, open to new ideas, and have a willingness to learn how to drum.

Must be available Saturday mornings from June to August to participate in the program. All drummers receive a stipend for participation in the program.
